Clayton Clayton

I have been getting into music photography, specifically photos of concerts.

Here are some photographs of Clayton Clayton during his set at L.A.'s Unknown Theater.

NYC Street Style Photography

I went to NY for a little over a week. It was just a trip to hang out with some friends. However, I decided to ask the Bare editors if I could send them Street Style pictures of fashionable people from NYC (particularly the Manhattan and Brooklyn areas to take initiative and make my trip really productive! The Creative Director, Jordan Silver, and the Blog Editor, Brittany Curran, okay-ed my idea!

Here's the first of the series: http://blog.baremagazine.org/2010/06/street-style-rainy-day-in-nyc.html

San Juan Capistrano and a beach near Dana Point

I didn't take a lot of pictures today. To add to that, I didn't particularly like the ones I did take. Here are the ones that I really did like:

I think my finger slightly covered the lens on this picture.

On Location: (500) Days of Summer

I have decided to create a new feature that I have entitled "On Location" to my photoblog. This was inspired by a conversation I had with Johanna about (500) Days of Summer, how watching the movie was basically reliving the Urbanscape Junior Year project I did in high school, and the bench scene. I told her that I love the places depicted in (500) Days of Summer but that for some reason they look a lot more stylized, dreamy, hipster-y, and just plain clean than in real life. I'm not trying to badmouth L.A. I LOVE L.A. My favorite Rilo Kiley song is "I Love L.A./Let Me Back In." I daydream of L.A. when I'm in Berkeley. I spend a lot of my vacation time back home exploring, photographing, and just wandering L.A.

Anyway, when I saw (500) Days of Summer, I recognized various locations in the movie. More specifically, this entry is about the bench scene in (500) Days of Summer.

"The bench scene" that I mention is the one in which Tom discusses architecture and draws the skyline on Summer's arm. I believe it is also part of the opening montage. You can see glimpses here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsD0NpFSADM at 0:51 and 2:01-2:02.

Those scenes take place at Angel's Flight and the park adjacent to it in Downtown L.A. just across the street from one end of the Pershing Square Metro Station and about a block away from the actual Pershing Square. It is also located near the Financial District.

Here are some pictures that I took today (They are also technically part of the Gloomy Downtown L.A. (01/01/10) series.):

I'm not sure why the pictures are squared off on this post. To see them in full size, just click them or go to my flickr page for them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/berniesamson/sets/72157622994311077/
